Our three optometrists see patients at the Renton branch, in addition to our two other branches—Auburn Vision Clinic and Kent Vision Clinic. With specializations in primary eye care, cornea and contact lenses, pediatric eye care, geriatric eye care and ocular disease, our doctors are accomplished in a wide array of optometry subjects.

What a Renton Optometrist Can Do for You
If it’s your first visit to a Renton optometrist, you can expect to have a full eye exam which includes an ocular health exam, a visual function exam, and a visual skills exam. The ocular health portion of the examination involves an assessment of the external and internal eye structures, eye alignment and movement, and the pupils’ reactions to light.

For the visual function portion, your Renton optometrist will measure how you view things near and far, as well as how you view the same things with the help of corrective lenses or optical aids. He or she will also assess your visual fields. Finally for the visual skills portion of the exam, your doctor will have you complete a variety of structured visual tests.

A good Renton optometrist will use a variety of optometry equipment during your exam. In addition to the eye charts and machines used to measure vision, optometrists use penlights or transilluminators to assess the light response of the pupil. In recent years, optometrists have been using advanced computers to detect specific ocular diseases, helping greatly with early detection and treatment.
