Seattle Optometrist

Everyone should visit an optometrist once a year. Like any aspect of your health, maintaining your eye health is of supreme importance, and doing so will help ensure that you have solid vision and ocular health throughout your life. If you live in the Seattle area, a Seattle optometrist will be able to assess your overall eye health and vision, prescribe any necessary corrective glasses or lenses, and diagnose or treat any eye issues or illnesses you may have.

A Seattle Optometrist for the Elderly
Just like an optometrist can specialize in pediatric eye care, a Seattle optometrist can specialize in geriatric eye care. In the beginnings phases of life, young eyes go through a variety of development stages that are important to monitor; similarly, mature individuals often experience a variety of changes in the ocular structures and vision.

As you age, you may notice deterioration in your vision; things that used to be clear become blurry. This could be macular degeneration, a degenerative disease of the eye’s macular area which causes a loss in vision. Most people with macular degeneration have the dry form which progresses very slowly; wet macular degeneration is usually more aggressive but only about 10% of all cases are of the wet form.

If you think you may have macular degeneration, you should visit a Seattle optometrist who can assess the situation. Here at Kosnoski Eye Care, Inc., our doctors have vast experience and knowledge in the area of macular degeneration as well as geriatric eye care and primary eye care.
